- Radiohead - In Rainbows - Released on the web in 2007 for "whatever you wanted to pay", and an unbelievable success. This album is a great representation of what makes Radiohead the tremendous influence they are.
- Cinematic Orchestra - Every Day - Haunting, beautiful and aptly named experimental and jazz influenced scores from Jason Swinscoe
- Amadou & Miriam - Welcome to Mali - This couple met at an institute for the blind, and creates South Affrican sounds mixed with strong vocals.
- Led Zeppelin - III - Tangerine will always have a place in my heart.
- Amon Tobin - Supermodified - This guy makes hip-hop and funk influenced, danceable off-beats with heavy bumpin' kicks. This album is brilliant.
- Mike Doughty - Smofe & Smang - The charisma and avant-garde hip-hop and lyrical styles Doughty is known for come through in this solo acoustic album
- Sigur Ros - Takk - "Must Listen" Orchestrated ambient electronic beauty
- Nova -anything to do with black holes and relativity, really. Channel 13 Rocks.
- House buyin' and fixer'uppin' shows - the massochist in me wants to see what I could be getting for my money somewhere else or if I knew how to screw in a lightbulb myself
- HBO - I don't have full cable, but I get HBO On Demand. Their shows are amazing. (The Wire, Deadwood, Flight of the Concords, etc...)
- Breaking Bad - This is and incredible, intense show. It's the only show I know on AMC
- How I met Your Mother - I needed a show to watch at the gym from 7-8pm once Charlie Sheen turned crazy. I think this one was intended for us 30somethings that were once addicted to Friends.
